About
Ableway is an accessibility-intelligent navigation platform: a map that starts by asking who the big maps forgot, and answers with routes instead of platitudes. The big maps optimize for speed. We optimize for getting there.
The company was founded by a family that knows the problem at body level: a mother with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair for long distances, a father and son with ADHD and dyslexia, an autistic brother. They grew up scrambling to figure out whether the hotel elevator worked or whether the restaurant had a ramp — and realized the answers live in people, not databases.
Ableway surfaces those answers. Live elevator status, curb geometry, surface quality, and community reports cross into one map, for wheelchairs, strollers, canes, low vision, low stamina, and every way of moving through the world.
Navigation is only as good as the data underneath it — so the map comes first. Our community platform collects place-by-place accessibility reviews: step-free entrances, ramp slopes, surface quality, restroom fit, live alerts. Turn-by-turn routing arrives when the data can carry it. We'd rather ship it late than ship it confidently wrong.
We keep a public build log in field notes — what shipped, what broke, what we counted before we coded.
Community-reviewed, not rubber-stamped
We never claim a venue is compliant with anything — we publish what people who actually moved through a place experienced, with the confidence of each answer worn on its sleeve.
No data yet ≠ bad data
An unreviewed place defaults to “route through with caution,” not “avoid.” Treating missing reviews as a verdict would starve exactly the places the big maps already skip.
Your data leaves when you do
We don't store IPs and we don't sell or share signups. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, deletion is immediate, and you have 60 seconds to undo it.
Accessible here first
A site about access has to be access. This one works keyboard-first, honors reduced motion, ships dark and light themes, and is working toward WCAG 2.2 AA.
For anything at all — questions, partnerships, or a heads-up that our own site missed a mark — write hello@ableway.co. For interviews and brand assets, the press kit has everything.
